About
If you are reading this page it is most likely because you would like some help with upgrading your WordPress installation, help to fix a broken element on your site, or a combination of both.
But first, a little about me and why this site is here.
Let me say from the outset, I am anything but an entrepreneur and in the past I have usually done everything mentioned above for free. Like so many people who use WordPress and enjoy what the Internet has to offer, I am glad to help out where I can and up until recently have offered my help in all things WordPress, without ever a thought of asking for any reward.
An exception to this a partnered web hosting and WordPress support business – Freshlypressed.net – but this is a bonafide business and is completely separate from all other activities associated with my WordPress involvement.
So, why the change? Well, mainly because the circumstances in my personal life have changed dramatically and because I now find myself in a situation where a second form of income is quickly becoming essential rather than a choice.
And do I have proven credentials? Well, yes and no. I have been using WordPress myself since way back in 2003 [Version 1.1 if memory serves me correctly] and since that time I have installed WordPress literally thousands of times. I have used WordPress both in numerous personal blogs and also as a business and work tool [often in the form of a CMS].
Many moons ago, I initially set up a repository on my own sites which provided free WordPress themes for all, and then set about collating hundreds of themes which eventually became too large a resource for a personal site. The WordPress Theme Viewer was then proposed as an alternative location and I set about setting up this site with the help of other voluntary members in the WordPress community.
Throughout the time I have been using WordPress, I have seen many changes and have worked with the many members of the WordPress support forums. I have also acted as a moderator on the forums for a small amount of time. From October 2007 till March 2008, I was an active member of the Install4Free team and spent hours and hours installing WordPress during this time.
I hope this has explained the reasons for my now having to ask for donations/payments and that you will understand the honesty in my words.
For those of you who are interested, I was once better known as Shadow and much of this site contains the same content that still resides on Erratic Souls.
